Healthy Veganism for Children — and then their dogs? Article

As we become more and more aware to the significance health and earth-friendly benefits of enjoying a plant-based diet, the obvious question will be, “But what about our children?” This was an excellent article citing not only the safety for children eating vegan, but of the immense benefits.

After spending an entire weekend at one of the largest natural health, sustainable, fairtrade, organic living tradeshows in North America in Vancouver recently, I am seeing (finally) a validation of what has been known for decades — plant based diets… rock.

Next, when our children become aware of the diet and animal-loving reasons to not consume meat, they are going to want to feed their dog the exact same way.

Former President Bill Clinton, now living a vegan lifestyle, appeared on “The Ellen DeGeneres Show” where he and talk show host Ellen DeGeneres discussed Clinton’s accomplishments, one being turning into a vegan. These types of healthy, dietary discussions are now happening more than ever before.

The PACK Wellness Company – a new veg, wellness and lifestyle brand for dogs will be there to serve a huge and growing vegetarian lifestyle market, where we are ‘humanizing’ and looking for the same choices for our dogs.

“Wow!! When long time trusted friend and mentor Gion Bezzola suggested we take a look at what Laura and Gord were doing with The Pack, Vanessa and I paid attention.

We looked over their website www.thepack.ca and after reading through the information we looked at each other and said “Yep – this is big!”

Both of us being vegetarians, yoga Instructors and having a strong interest in nutrition, whole foods and organics as well as being animal lovers (especially dogs) this made total sense to us.
